Meet the Student Officers

  • President

    Ga In

Esteemed delegates, directors, and guests, it is my pleasure to serve as your President for the Disarmament Commission for this year’s SHAMUN XXI. I am a junior at Shanghai American School Puxi and I have participated in MUN for the past 4 years. This year’s topic for the Disarmament Commission encourages delegates to devise multiple strategies in response to critical and necessary discussions of arms crises regarding biological warfare and nuclear-free zones. Whether this is your first conference or one among many, I hope SHAMUN leaves you with valuable experience and increased advocacy and awareness for global issues. See you all in October!

  • Deputy President

    Sean

    Delegates and guests,

Welcome to the Disarmament Commission. I am Sean, a junior at Shanghai American School, and I will be your student officer at SHAMUN XXI. MUN has made me a confident speaker and a keen advocate for global affairs, and I hope that this experience will foster your own growth in this. This year, in tackling the question of the emerging threat of biological warfare, we hope that delegates will apply their debate, lobbying, and speaking skills to demonstrate the resilience and global-mindedness of the international community. I look forward to seeing you all in October!

  • Deputy President

    Sarita

My name is Sarita and it’s my honor to serve as the Deputy President of the Disarmament Commission. This will be my fourth conference and first time chairing. The past three conferences I attended have helped me become a more confident speaker and furthered my interest in global affairs. For me, MUN isn’t just about discussing and solving global issues, but also a platform where both experienced and new delegates meet and grow together. As most conferences were held virtual last year, I’m grateful for this in-person chairing opportunity and excited to meet you all there!
