President Chairs

  • Allison Wang - President Chair

    Hello delegates!

My name is Allison, currently a junior at Shanghai American School Puxi, and it is my honor to serve as the President of the International Monetary Fund for SHAMUN XXVI. Over the course of five years, I have attended over twenty conferences, serving as a student officer at more than ten of them.

I will be focusing on the topic of “Strengthening international responses to rising inflation caused by geopolitical conflict and global instability.” As geopolitical tensions and global disruptions continue to increase inflationary pressures, greater international cooperation is needed to coordinate monetary policies, strengthen supply chains, and support vulnerable populations. I look forward to hearing the diverse perspectives each delegate will contribute and to a constructive debate.

Please feel free to reach out anytime if you have any questions. See you in October!

  • Nicole Ren - Deputy President

    Greetings, all delegates!

My name is Nicole Ren, a rising senior at HIBA Academy Shanghai, Wellington College China. I am honoured to serve as your Deputy President of the International Monetary Fund.

With a keen interest in finance and economics, I have consistently focused on and researched topics related to the international financial system, cryptocurrency, etc. In this conference, I will be focusing on the topic of Addressing Unsustainable Sovereign Debt in Developing and Emerging Economies. As we know, a continuous increase in debt burdens has constrained governments' ability to invest in sectors such as health, education, and infrastructure.

This time, I hope all delegates can step out of their comfort zones and make this experience unforgettable. Eventually, this will also be an excellent opportunity to learn about different perspectives on global issues and make friends. I’m sure we’ll have loads of fun! See you soon!

  • Seoyoon Lily Kim - Deputy President

    Hello delegates!

My name is Lily Kim, and I am a senior at Shanghai American School Puxi. I feel extremely honored to serve as your deputy president for IMF at SHAMUN.

This year at SHAMUN, I will be focusing on “Reforming international lending frameworks to promote sustainable growth in developing and emerging economies.” As developing and emerging economies continue to be pressured by debt distress, currency instability, and climate-related shocks, the question of how international lending institutions can better support long-term, sustainable growth remains urgent.

As a chair, I am here to guide the procedure, push your arguments further with challenging questions, and help you grow as a strong, confident delegate. Don't hesitate to reach out to me before or during the conference if you have any questions.

I can't wait to see the creative and well-researched solutions you bring to the committee. See you in October!
