David Goodale - President Chair
Hello everyone! My name is David Goodale. I am a rising sophomore at SSIS Suzhou, and it is my utmost pleasure to serve as Crisis Committee President for SHAMUN XXVI.
The Crisis Committee has always been my favorite because of how immersive the experience is. Where delegates feel the weight of every action and the tick of the clock as the conflict stays unresolved.
‘The Shatterpoint’ theme is especially important for Crisis, as it symbolizes inherent flaws of a nation or its leader that will push it towards conflict. So, my challenge for delegates is not to abandon one’s perspective just to avoid conflict, but to embrace their character's flaws while working around them towards peace.
Lastly, I am certain that this edition will not only be exciting, but also one where delegates learn to be precise and comprehensive in their actions. Looking forward to seeing you all in October!

Richard Zhang - Deputy President
Hello delegates!
My name is Richard Zhang, and I am a sophomore at SASPX. This year’s SHAMUN will be my sixth MUN conference. I am truly honored to serve as your deputy chair for Crisis.
This year's Crisis topic is a complex one, the Lebanese Civil war in the 1970s arose from fractured religious and ethnic political power sharing, growing tensions with armed Palestinian factions in southern Lebanon, and heavy external intervention from Syria and Israel. These overlapping domestic and foreign pressures split Lebanon into rival militias and sparked nationwide instability starting in 1975. Delegates will take charge as historic figures involved in this conflict thriving to reach their targets.
I look forward to hearing the intriguing arguments and witnessing the quick thinking crisis responses and creative backroom notes throughout this conference. Please email me at XuanChang01px2029@saschina.org if you have any questions regarding the topic and I will try my best to support you during the conference!
See you all in October!

Julia Lee - Backroom
Hi all!
My name is Julia Lee and I am a sophomore from Shanghai American School Puxi campus.
This will be the 4th MUN conference that I have attended since the 7th grade and it is especially exciting for me as this will be my first time as a backroom officer.
As the backroom officer, I'll make sure every order gets a fair look and that every crisis update leads to good, interesting conversations. I'll also try to build a story that makes sense, keeps people interested, and is fun for everyone.
The Lebanese Civil War was a big deal for the whole world, and a lot of the problems from back then are still around to this day. I'm excited to see you delegates talk about all this while having fun in Crisis. I wish a very good luck to all the delegates, and to my fellow officers!
