Vincent Zheng - President Chair
Hi, delegates!
My name is Vincent, and I am a senior at Shanghai American School Pudong. I will be serving as your President for United Nations Office of Disarmament Affairs at SHAMUN XXVI. This is my 14th conference and 7th time chairing.
I will be covering the topic of “Addressing the regulation and proliferation of autonomous weapons systems in modern warfare.” This is one of urgent needs facing the international community, with establishing clear rules that ensure human control over AI-powered weapons that can independently select and attack targets. Without proper regulations, these systems risk undermining international humanitarian law, increasing civilian harm, and creating accountability gaps amid an accelerating AI arms race.
If you need any support or have questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
See you in October!

Isaac Lai - Deputy President
Greetings, Delegates!
My name is Isaac Lai, a senior at Shanghai Singapore International School, and I am honored to serve as your Deputy President for this iteration of SHAMUN in the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA).
My topic of specialization is “Addressing the Illicit Trafficking of Small Arms and Light Weapons in Conflict Zones.” This issue remains a major obstacle to international peace and security, as the unchecked flow of weapons fuels violence, empowers non-state actors, and erodes prospects for lasting peace.
In Star Wars: Shatterpoint, Matthew Stover explores how every conflict has a pivotal point where a single intervention can alter everything that follows. As we debate the illicit arms trade, I hope you’ll consider not only how conflicts are sustained, but also how timely action can prevent further escalation. I look forward to meeting you in committee, and I wish you the best of luck.

Mahlori Lloyd Nkuna - Deputy President
Greetings, Distinguished Delegates!
My name is Mahlori Lloyd Nkuna. I am a senior at SCIS Pudong, and it is my deepest honor and privilege to welcome you to the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA). I will serve as the Deputy President for this year’s iteration of the committee at SHAMUN XXVI. This conference will be my 11th in my high school MUN journey.
I will preside over the issue of “Regulating the development and deployment of hypersonic weapons systems in modern conflict”. Ultimately, advancing weaponry systems devastate entities beyond governments and their military systems; as such, regulations are imperative.
I hope that as you engage in this committee, you’ll find meaningful and innovative solutions to the issues at hand. I look forward to meeting you all in person as we embark on this conference journey together. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at NKM67025@scis-student.org.
