Historical Security Council - HSC

President Chairs

  • President - Alex Wang

    Hi everyone!

I'm Alex, a senior at SASPX. I've been involved in MUN since middle school, and have participated in numerous conferences both as a chair and as a delegate. For me, the best parts of every conference are always the people I meet and the places I go to: having been to various schools across Shanghai and as far as Ireland, I can confidently say that every experience has been uniquely memorable. I hope your experience at SHAMUN will be no different.

I am the President for HSC and will be focusing on the 1979 Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. See you in October!

  • Deputy President - Elaine Lu

Hello everyone! My name is Elaine Lu, and I’m currently a senior at Hangzhou International School. It’s my honor to serve as your Deputy President of the Historical Security Council at SHAMUN XXV. I began my MUN journey in Grade 6 and have since participated in numerous conferences, both as a delegate and as a chair.

With a strong interest in the historical context explored in HSC, I hope all delegates will enjoy diving into these complex events as much as I do. I will be focusing on the Six Day War of 1967, a brief conflict in which Israel launched pre-emptive strikes against Egypt, Jordan, and Syria, quickly defeating them and seizing the Sinai Peninsula, Gaza Strip, West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Golan Heights, dramatically altering the Middle East's geopolitical landscape.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if there are concerns or questions. See you in October!
