The SHAMUN Lite Secretariat
Secretary General
Teresa S.
“Hi everyone! My name is Teresa, and I am a senior at Shanghai American School (Puxi Campus). I have served as the Secretary General of two different conferences and attended over a dozen conferences as a delegate or chair. Throughout my 5 years of involvement in MUN, I have had the privilege of witnessing the multilateralism, awareness, and understanding that MUN fosters. Every MUN conference is an opportunity for delegates to take on the exhilarating responsibility of representing an entire nation– a situation that challenges delegates to think beyond their personal opinions and consider what is best for the large, diverse community on behalf of which they speak. I am confident that SHAMUN Lite will offer that and much more. I look forward to seeing delegates tackle some of the most urgent issues we face, and I am beyond excited to meet you all in February!”

DEPUTY SECRETARY-GENERAL
“Hello! My name is Teresa, currently a freshman as Shanghai American School, Puxi. With over a year of experience and a few conferences under my belt, it is my honor to be serving you both on the SHAMUN Secretariat team and as well as in the Crisis Backroom. Being a conference of a more intimate size, I have all the confidence that SHAMUNLite will be the optimal venue for even more experienced delegates to fine-tune their skills and grasp on diplomacy. It is only through open discourse that we can aim to foster a brighter future, and I only hope that SHAMUNLite will help you along as you continue on your journey of collaboration and contribution to this cause. I look forward to meeting all of you on conference day!”

Gianna F.
DEPUTY SECRETARY-GENERAL
“Hi, I’m Gianna, and I’m a sophomore at SAS Puxi. Although I’m still relatively new to MUN compared to many of the attending delegates, I’m super excited to see what exciting debates come to fruition at SHAMUN Lite! It’s an honor to be a part of such a wonderful conference, and I hope that it will be a valuable learning experience for all of us. I’ve previously attended conferences like SHAMUN and SHASMUNito, and the environment of collaboration they fostered I found to be quite wonderful. It’s my wish that SHAMUN Lite can offer the same to all of you. If you see me, please don’t hesitate to say hello. We can all make new friends and connections (outside, of course, of the heated debate we will find ourselves in) at SHAMUN Lite. Good luck, and have fun!”

Alex M.
DEPUTY SECRETARY-GENERAL
“Welcome to SHAMUNLite!
My name is Alex and it is a great honor to be able to serve as a deputy secretary general and a chair at the inaugural SHAMUNLite conference. My MUN journey began just several months ago in august 2021. In this period of time, I have grown to greatly enjoy the different aspects of MUN and have developed a passion for international relations and improving the wider global community.
The pace of societal development in recent years has accelerated at an unprecedented rate, coming with this growth is a unique set of challenges that face us all. The theme of SHAMUNLite "A transforming tomorrow" aims to bring out fruitful discussions and foster international collaboration about these challenges that face us. It is in my belief that all delegates and chairs will benefit greatly from the experience gained from the SHAMUNLite conference and go on to improve the state of tomorrow.
I look forward to seeing all of you in February!” -
Elaine S.
DEPUTY SECRETARY-GENERAL
“Hello, all!
Welcome delegates! I’m Elaine, and I’m incredibly honoured to have the chance to serve on the Secretariat Team and Chair for SHAMUNLite this year. My first MUN conference experience dates back to 2019, and ever since, my passion for MUN and thus international relations have much increased. Currently a sophomore at Shanghai American School Puxi Campus, I believe SHAMUNLite will bring the delegates compelling debates and a thrilling experience overall despite its much more limited size. Through SHAMUNLite, delegates will be able to expand their horizons and become more globally aware individuals. As the world we live in continuously spawn irregular, rapid changes, we need to engage in global events and remain alert of what’s happening worldwide. I am confident SHAMUNLite is able to shine a light on those issues most concerning to us today, which is why I’m extremely excited to attend this conference, to watch delegates engage in debate and to facilitate that process. When all is said and done, I’m looking forward to February and hope to see all of you at the conference!”

Derek X.
DEPUTY SECRETARY-GENERAL
“Hello, my name is Derek. I’m a junior at SAS Puxi and it is my privilege to serve as your Chair for the Crisis committee and also as your deputy secretary General at SHAMUN Lite. I’ve done MUN for 2 years. and I was the deputy president for Crisis at SHAMUN. The Crisis committee is really unique and it’s quite rare in China. I loved the spontaneous characteristic of the Crisis committee and it’s my personal favorite. I hope you can enjoy it as well!”
