My name is Sophia, and I will be serving as your President for Security Council at SHAMUN XXV. I am a senior at SASPX and SHAMUN XXV will (likely) mark my last SHAMUN. 

My MUN journey started with SHAMUN, and the memories I’ve made throughout are truly unforgettable. So much has gone through since my first time approaching the podium, yet I know so much lies ahead of us. I have a strong belief in this year’s conference: I know it will be as benefitting and enjoyable as it could ever be for a delegate.   

My topic of specialization will be “Addressing the territorial dispute and potential escalation between Venezuela and Guyana”. I look forward to seeing how delegates approach this complex issue through research, debate, and collaboration.

Hello everyone!  

I’m Leo Shin, a rising senior at SMIC Private School. Since 7th grade, I’ve attended 12 different conferences including YALEMUN Korea, BEIMUN, and CISSMUN with experiences as a chair and as a delegate. I’m honored to be the Deputy Chair for SHAMUN’s Security Council. Especially in a Security Council setting where delegates debate the highest priority security issues and confront pressing geopolitical tensions, I hope that everyone will discuss these issues with sincerity.
