Crisis Committee

Advanced Committee

President Chairs

  • President - Kaden Fei

    Hi everyone!

I am Kaden Fei, a junior at Dulwich College Beijing, and it will be my honor to serve as your president for Crisis.

My MUN journey began in 2023, and this year's SHAMUN will mark my 11th conference; additionally, it will be my 6th time chairing. I remember not even wanting to go to MUN; however, it soon became a crucial part of my time in high school. During this journey, Crisis became my favorite committee. I would like to have a fruitful and exciting debate with my committee.

    See you all soon!

  • Deputy President - Albert Zhang

    Hi Delegates,

My name is Albert and I’m a rising junior from SAS Puxi. This will be my 5th SHAMUN crisis as either a delegate, a backrooms officer, or a chair. Please feel free to approach me if you have any questions about the format or the topic at hand.

We will be discussing the topic of the Congo war, a relatively forgotten yet extremely important part of modern history. I am super excited to meet all the delegates.

    See you there!

Backroom

  • Backroom Director - Jasmine Wu

    Hi everyone!

My name is Jasmine and I’m a senior at SAS Puxi. This is my third and final SHAMUN and I’m extremely honored to serve as Backroom and part of the secretariat team. This is my fifth time engaging with the Crisis Committee, which has unknowingly become my personal favorite.

Crisis at SHAMUN has a dynamic storyline hand-shaped by delegates, very in-character speeches from passionate delegates, and, as always, some crisis updates from backroom to spice things up.

As part of the backroom staff and the secretariat team, I will do my best to support smooth communication between frontroom and backroom, ensure notes are well received, and that delegates would have a fun and stimulating experience in the Crisis Committee.

The Crisis Committee is challenging, but I promise you'll gain tremendous knowledge after it. You’ll make friends too.

I look forward to seeing all of you on campus soon!

  • Backroom Officer - Elaine Orange

    Hello Delegates!

I’m Elaine, a senior at SCLSID, and I’ll be serving as a Backroom Officer for this year’s crisis committee.

I’ve been involved in MUN for a few years now, and I’ve always loved the fast-paced, unpredictable nature of both delegating in and chairing conferences. Whether it’s drafting updates, building arcs, or fueling chaos from behind the scenes, I’m excited to help create an engaging and immersive experience for delegates. Outside of MUN, I’m passionate about law, human rights, and storytelling in all forms.

I can’t wait to see what delegates will bring the conference in October!

  • Backroom Officer - Jayden An

    Hi everyone,

My name is Jayden An, and I’m a junior at SSIS Suzhou. This will be my fourth SHAMUN conference and my second time chairing in MUN; it’s also my second experience in a crisis committee.

I’ve always believed that crisis committees are exciting, intense, and somewhat chaotic. But after my first conference, I realized that it’s a committee format that requires everyone in the room (including the backroom) to be fully committed and think critically to resolve the crises they face. It demands deep research, strong communication skills, and a bit of wit to keep the committee engaging and dynamic.

As a backroom staff member, I’ll do my best to keep the crisis realistic and appropriate, and to respond to your backroom notes as quickly as possible—even though that might be challenging at times.

I look forward to seeing everyone and your talents as delegates this October!
